Introduction to Specialty Adhesives

Adhesive is a major category of polymer materials, product types and functions are extremely rich, a wide range of applications.However, according to the principle of the adhesive, the adhesive is not complicated. Adhesives acting through van der Waals forces, such as butyl adhesives, are universal and can bond to almost any surface. Bonded by hydrogen bond or metal ion bond, such as PVB film, EAA metal salt film, glass and other hydroxy-rich surfaces have excellent bonding effect. Most adhesives are bonded by polar chemical bonds, such as epoxy adhesives, polyurethane adhesives, acrylic adhesives, organic silicone, urea formaldehyde adhesives, phenolic adhesives and melamine-formaldehyde adhesives. A special adhesive system is bonded by the production of free radicals (such as B-bond chemistry), the resulting free radicals can bond most organic substrate surfaces, especially including low-energy surfaces or non-polar surfaces, these adhesives are also known as low-energy surface binders. Adhesives and encapsulant film, especially important to the film industry, can help customers in a variety of application environments to use the film, is a good partner to eliminate trouble.

In the process of promoting film products, Fumo Tech has developed a range of practical and distinctive adhesives and encapsulant films. For example: OCA6130T: A polyurethane-based high-transparency adhesive that uses an innovative non-migrating UVA absorber, providing high UV blocking without compromising adhesion—in fact, it enhances bonding performance. HMA6250: A hot melt adhesive specifically designed for wooden doors, featuring a narrow activation temperature range but capable of withstanding container baking temperatures of 75°C after cooling. This adhesive achieves substrate-breaking adhesion (with a bonding force of 100N/inch) with materials like solid wood and medium-density fiberboard, replacing existing solvent-based adhesive systems and significantly reducing environmental pollution. PSA6320: A special PSA adhesive that offers strong adhesion to both fluorocarbon films and glass surfaces, along with excellent hydrolysis stability, passing the 48h PCT pressure cooker steaming test. Additionally, Fumo Tech is developing gas barrier adhesive films, such as low WVTR products.
